Frozen Elsa Tutorial
Last Sunday of the year and i am going to make this blogpost a memorable for myself and my dear readers ❤
Anything special planned for today? Like spending quality time with your loved ones or like me stuck at home still trying to clear up the mess (and junk) i made throughout 2013 lol.
So much for a weekend huh?
I would also like to thank all of you for your unending support on my blog and cosplays though i haven't been so active so the past 1 year due to work and studies (not to mention financial restrictions *sobs*)
So hopefully 2014 will be a more stable year and i do hope to be able to continue making pretty costumes the rest of my life.
Though i haven't had time, nor any photographer friends who are free when i am, always clash oTL /gg.com. Seriously no fate XD
to do a proper Elsa shoot,i honestly do wish i could do it in a real snow environment but unfortunately
Malaysia doesn't have 4 seasons.
Disney please do sponsor me a trip to Disneyland so i can meet all the lil princesses there and take tons of photos with them in the snow >w< lol
Been getting tons of positive feedback on my Queen Elsa look despite it being an experiment that succeeded on 1st attempt (lucky)
Thank you Shiro for making my skin look so kira-kira *w*
So i am just gonna briefly share how i did this look with very few simple steps because Elsa's make up mainly focuses on her dramatic eye make up only and the rest is her breath taking gown made of ice.
I spent my whole Saturday restyling my Elsa wig which i apologize for the poor styling during Comicfiesta and doing this tutorial but sadly i didn't put on my costume because by the time i was done it was almost 7pm lol.
The daylight was gone and i couldn't get nice decent shoots with natural outdoor lighting :-(
Oh well, maybe time to save up for proper lighting equipment?
Always start with a clean, primed, concealed and set face.
Trust me it's easier to start on an empty canvas (your face) rather than trying to add on more drawings unto it. If you have any make up of whatsoever, don't be lazy to remove it and put on a fresh layer.
This is one of the main reason why i can't live without Japanese cosmetics, as much as their colored eye shadows and lipstick shades are limited but what's important is they always got the basics covered.
Raid my handbag this is what you will always find :D
Cosmetic Used:
- Eyemazing Blusher (sweet pink)
- Heavy Rotation
- Bibo Eyeful Eyeliner (Black)
- Bibo Eyeful Eyeliner (White)
- Bibo Eyeful Eyebrow (Light Brown)
- K-Palette Liquid Eyeliner
- Heavy Rotation Powder Eyebrow & Nose Shadow-#02 Natural Brown
- Kiss Me Top lashes (04)
- Kiss Me bottom lashes (09)
- Eyeshadow palette
Fill in your eyebrows with the eyebrow pencil, gently draw from back to front. I am using Bibo Eyeful Eyebrow (Light Brown) because Elsa is blonde so dark colored eyebrows would be too harsh for her look.
For eyeshadow there isn't any particular shade or brand i'm using, because i hardly use eyeshadow.
Using whatever i have in my make up box, this particular box is the Sephora Christmas edition that i got as a Christmas present last year :)
Start from far left to right
Watch this video on how i did the eyeshadow application
It should somewhat look something like this, i used silver eyeshadow beneath my eyebrows to highlight, make the brows appear higher.
The topmost part of your crease use a slight burgundy color and blend it in with the shimmery purple eyeshadow
Finished look should have a gradient like effect like this.
Sad to see my ever so tiny eye crease :-(
Heavy Rotation Powder Eyebrow & Nose Shadow-#02 Natural Brown lightly use the middle shade to dab on some fake freckles, anyway if you want them more obvious you can use a brown pencil eyeliner.
This blusher has been my all time favorite and frequently used in all my cosplay make ups because of it's light and smooth texture plus it's long lasting.
It's like the perfect shade of pink that you can't seem to get anywhere else, i have tons of blushers and to find a nice pink shade without it making you look like a drag queen is difficult.
Eyemazing Blusher (sweet pink) tone is quite suitable for asian skins, not to mention it's compact size that is travel friendly too.
Available in selected Watsons outlets under J Pop Corner.
Apply the blush at the apples of your cheeks and tip of your nose for the effect like you are in a cold country :-)
Like this.
After drawing on a thin line of liquid eyeliner close to the lash line (don't apply too thick or you will look like a drag queen!) stick on the top lashes and the bottom. If you are unsure of applying falsies do let me know then i'll do a video tutorial for it k? :-)
Take the black pencil eyeliner to slightly fill in the close gap between your eye and bottom lashes so at least the extended lower lash part doesn't look too unnatural. Woes of having small typical Asian eyes T^T alot of eye make up requires me to put on double eyelid sticker. So tempted to do double eyelid stitching but after hearing the painful process and follow ups from a friend i also lost interest already XD
But if it does make life easier for you will you do it?
Use the white eyeliner pencil to fill in the outer corners of your tear duct. Then finish up with your lipstick, wig and costume.
Edit: Regarding the lipstick i am not sure which to follow, on the movie poster it seems pink but in the movie it's darker >.<
So hope you guys understand ya, i did not purposely chose that shade :P
I did the whole recording and photo taking myself, so please pardon some blur pictures especially since they were taken with indoor lighting on my handphone >.<
Do follow my blog closely because I will be giving away some J Pop Corner lashes and some other beauty products.
If you have any questions don't be shy to drop a comment below, i will be sure to reply them ;-)
Thank you so much for reading this tutorial *blush*
